About Luke Perkin
Luke Perkin is a camera operator and cinematographer.
Born and bred in Manchester, except for his hair (that's from Cyprus), Luke now lives in London. He has claimed over three years experience working on creative products from commercials, music videos and drama. It all started when he voluntarily worked for a production company called Surdevan Creative. During the weekend he would camera operate on live music performances, scripted music videos and corporate promotions. After a day at college Luke would walk down to the office and help digitise, label and edit the footage using Final Cut Pro.
Thirsty for more, Luke went on to a two year intensive course in film production. During his two years at Metfilm school, which is based within the lovely Ealing Studios, he created and assisted many short films. Luke experienced and understood each role while amassing knowledge of both digital and film mediums. It was there where he found his love for cinematography and in the second year he specialised in that department.
When Luke isn't running around with cameras or burning his fingers off with lights he is usually doing something with computers. From a very early age he taught himself how to program and make small games. Today he continues to dabble in game design, software and recently, iPhone apps. If he's not mashing keys then he's strumming strings on his acoustic guitar.
